QOTD: Surya Lacona

The Department of Homeland Security in Washington D.C. needs to take a field trip.

Surya Lacona, as quoted from this evening’s Lou Dobbs Tonight. Lacona is a former flight attendant who was living in the D.C. area and working during 9/11, flying routes from D.C. to San Diego. After 9/11, she began asking the border agent she was dating at the time about how secure the border really was. What followed was a crusade, of sorts, documenting and exposing much of the rhetoric from DHS concerning our improved security as both out of touch and a pack of lies. She has been so thorough in her job, she has received personal attacks by DHS, which felt it necessary to take her on in the court of public opinion; however, DHS continues merely to make assertions without any intelligent support, resting most of its case simply on the credibility it assumes it has with most Americans. Indeed, Lacona is right: DHS, like much of Washington, is completely out of touch. They all could use a field trip.

Ms. Lacona will be releasing a documentary later closer to the elections this fall titled “Green Cards for Al Qaida,” which will document what she found for all to see. It may very well be the “Blowing up Russia” of the American exposé.

I haven't heard about this, but I've been slacking off from the blog and news this week. Sometimes the frustrations I see really weigh on me. I cannot understand why, how, some of the things that are going on in America, in this world, can be happening.

It's like crazy people are somehow taking over, and logic and common sense no longer rule those in high places.

I’m afraid it seems the crazy people took over a long time ago, and we let them. It's been 20 years since Reagan, and the old establishment has almost entirely retaken the show and undone everything that the Gipper did for the people of America (to say nothing for freedom in the world). Inflation is back, oil crisis is back, Russia is back, communism is back, and soon, the left's exclusive hold on media will be back. And of course, the people are pushed out of the square of debate. At least there is some comfort in the fact Reagan must have made those establishment people mad as hops to have been set back so far that it's taken them two decades to get us back to the same malaise Jimmy Carter had us in. Granted, they've done us one better by allowing China to get us in a death grip and leaving our borders open to criminal gang members, identity thieves, wage suppressers, and the like. They've learned, I think, to keep us busy while their own agendas - both self-serving and noble, but woefully out of touch - proceed. The only way to get back control is to get our hands dirty on the political party level, so that when we find a good leader, he has a chance at nomination – and of course we need to retake congress - and maybe Americans will put that together by 2012. It’s a race though, the war against sovereignty is waging hot and fast against students of all ages who are being taught it’s not cool to love America. If we wait too long, we may have lost more than a generation.
